25 | ''Porto Sentido''

Quem vem e atravessa o rio

que se estende ate ao mar… (’’Porto Sentido’’ by Rui Veloso)

As promised, this blog will see all the stories about my trips to Porto or Portugal… this time started my journey in the middle of May to visit my favourite city again for one week and I arrived there on 11th of May. Before that I spent two days in Köln with my Bulgarian friend Emiliya which was a warmup for Porto completely in Portuguese style – we visited the Portuguese district in Köln (for the the first time for both of us) and found few Portuguese restaurants/cafés, ate porco alentejana, drank vinho verde, tango and superbock and practised Portuguese with native speakers! Deja vu… And I don’t know if it was just waiting something so, so much or something else but just before leaving Köln, I heard Portuguese everywhere (just my imagination:D).
Even better was landing to Porto.. meu deus, I had tears in my eyes when I touched the land. The air, the people, their language, the atmosphere, the smells - it’s all so homie for me but still keeps amazing me.

First day. Just after arrival at the home of our host, our coordinator o Sr Nilson (on the right in this picture)! :D We were staying there with 3 other Spanish students who were doing Erasmus last year as I did - so we had a small reunion there after almost one year!! I had been waiting for that so long! On the left one of my best friends - Juan. And guess what's there on the table - bottle of vinho do Porto. :) Who needs to eat when we have portwine to drink? ;)
Piolho, we missed you so much!! Altogether with sooo great people!
First of all the four francesinhas which I killed during one week. And one of the countless Tangos. :) Nom, nom..

...SuperBock, baby!

Second day/night. Well, we didn't see much daylight 'cause night promised to come tough. So we were sleeping to have energy until early morning hours. We started with drinks and chit-chat by the ocean and afterwards headed to Queima das Fitas! In short, it is a traditional Portuguese student's festival which takes place every year for one week. I have described it in detail in one of my previous posts May last year (in Estonian).

Our group with who we went altogether to party!

Where is Angel, there is magic.

Main stage. Queima 12 May 2012. Buraka Som Sistema on stage.  Wegue... wegue, wegue, wegue...

PLEASE?!?!! I beg..

And after the night of Queima you just have to go to the ocean and take a bath! So refreshening!

And then the last cup of Port.. you smile and there you go. Bye-bye!! :'(

So hot that the only way is to go to beach and get sunburnt.

Fui, vi, voltei.

Still the same houses.. I guess they get more beautiful with the age.

Who knows what he is doing...

Kinda street performance.. :)

For some short moments I also met with Sara who was Erasmus in Tallinn! :D

Let's walk to all the best places. :)

Attended a walking tour by Pancho Tours because the guide was Denis, a belorussian guy who is doing Erasmus in ISMAI this year and one of the flatmates of our coordinator. Another story related to him later..

Adoro-te, o Porto!

Sara, who was studying in Tallinn, on the right side and Denis on my left. Hehe, world is small.. I met Denis at my coordinator's house, we were talking and it appeared that we have two Portuguese friends in common.  As I mentioned before, he is doing tours in Porto and I got to know that he is working with Sara because she is also one of the guides. And that still isn't all. I also know their boss Tiago who I met last year in Porto during my Erasmus. :D

Perfect last memory before leaving..
I stayed one year in Portugal, fell in love with the country, and decided that I was born to live in Portugal. (Original quote ''“I stayed three weeks in Paris, fell in love with the city, and decided that I was born to live in Paris.” found somewhere on Facebook.)

Beijinhos ;*
